I took a few minutes and read last night on commercial breaks. Now that my boys are out of school we have slowly started adjusting to the slower pace. I love summer. I love not waking up to an alarm clock. I find that to be one of lives best-est pleasures ever.
I haven’t made it but from the 17th to the 20th. But, these few entrees are so “ME”. The 18th, “Simplify, Simplify, Simplify” sound familiar. I don’t think any of us truly sees the beauty in this process of living. I do not want to be ruled by things or stuff. I am trying ever day to do some kind of decluttering or going through something. Yesterday as I was getting rid of all the things my elementary kiddo brought home I went through our marker bucket. Yes, I keep them all. I made a very pretty design on a sheet of paper while seeing what markers still work and which ones don’t. I love to color it’s so peaceful and mindless. Great De-stress-or. Try it sometime. Just sit down and color it’s amazingly peaceful.
The next entry is about finding our inner peace. What do you do to recenter? How do you get your focus back? One of my all time favorite things as a mother of 3 is when you have slept in and you wake and hear nothing. No kids feet no dogs running around. I awake to “QUIET” it’s an amazing sound. Silence. I try to lay in bed as long as I can and just marvel in silence. Then on vacations and summer break I get up get my coffee and hang out on the computer. Quiet time is a wonderful thing. We all need it. Even if it’s 15 mins in the shower. Or your drive to and from work. Wherever you can grab it do some thinking and be grateful for what you have. I also love doing laundry. I know it sounds crazy because it never goes away. But, to me it’s mindless. I can daydream, wander, or figure out life’s biggest challenges and when I’m done all the clothes are put away as well. :) Find your way to put order in your life.
My favorite thing I read last night….The Art of Puttering… LOVE IT! We call these pj days. Yes, I and sometimes everyone in the house have been known to wear out pjs all day and just putter about. These are like mental health days. Everyone even our kids need a day with no schedule. A day to just be. Sometimes you do a chore or two sometimes we watch a movie or two. The most important thing is there is no agenda. Just take it as it comes. Let the day unfold. These are awesome on rainy or snowy days. When you don’t want to go outside or do anything anyway.
If I were a doctor I would write everyone an RX for a PJ day.
Do yourself a huge favor and grant yourself a pj day. You will be so glad you did.
Until next time…keep on trucking…let me know what you think, comments, suggestions, etc.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure , than to take rank with those poor spires who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat. — Theodore Roosevelt (via eloquentandhonest)
